ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Clinical Nurse Educator position is responsible for providing education and development activities for the mental health clinical staff to meet the needs of the service and individuals. The position is predominantly responsible for education and support to the inpatient services and also contributes to the delivery of practice development across Mercy Mental Health Program.

The Clinical Nurse Educator also plays a key role in the clinical supervision and support of graduate and postgraduate nursing staff.

• Part-Time - 56 hours per fortnight (12 month contract)
• Support the professional development of Mental health Nurses
• Demonstrate clinical leadership and role-modelling for the mental health program
• Work alongside a passionate team of educators and leaders

ABOUT YOU:

• Registered Nurse with current AHPRA Registration
• Post Graduate Qualifications in Mental Health Nursing
• Tertiary qualification in education (minimum requirement Cert IV Training and Assessment)
• Excellent communication skills and effective interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated an interest in education activities.

Mercy Mental Health (South West Area Mental Health Service) is a public mental health service supporting people in south west metropolitan Melbourne with severe and complex mental illnesses by providing acute and community-based care. Services are available to adults through acute inpatient programs, residential rehabilitation programs and crisis and community recovery-focused treatment programs. We also deliver inpatient and community specialist perinatal mental health services to women and infants in western Victoria.
