The Families and Young People Services Team currently has a permanent full-time vacancy for a Team Manager to join the Mercy Community Family Intervention Program who will be responsible for delivering a consistently high-quality service across the Toowoomba/Warwick region.

The Role…

You will be responsible for the coordination of all aspects of the program areas associated with that team. Specifically, the Team Manager will provide personal, professional and organisational support to program workers to assist them in the conduct of their duties, to ensure high quality service provision to children, families and other stakeholders.

To be eligible for this position you will require (Key Selection Criteria):

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Social Science, Psychology or related discipline.
  • Highly developed communication (written and verbal), mediation and conflict-resolution skills.
  • A clear, expressed understanding of the complex challenges facing families in contemporary society, with a focus on the particular challenges faced by families who have come into contact with the child protection system.
  • A well-developed professional framework (values, beliefs, knowledge, skills, systems etc.) for working with vulnerable families to facilitate positive change in the interests of safety and wellbeing of the children.
  • Demonstrated experience in the professional supervision of team members involving critical reflection to enhance both their practice skills and professional knowledge base.
  • High level evidence-informed risk assessment skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to use systems (including MS Word and Excel), time and resources effectively to track progress and meet deadlines.
  • Evidence of current vaccination against whooping cough or willingness to obtain prior to commencement, unless applicable exemption provided.
  • Queensland Provisional Green or above Driver’s Licence.
  • Ability to obtain positive notice in the Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and any other legislatively required personal history screening as required.

This position offers a competitive salary of $86,055 - $89,868 (excluding Superannuation) in line with Level 6 of our Enterprise Agreement (dependent on qualifications and experience). You will also have the opportunity to increase your take-home pay by salary sacrificing and other benefits.
