We’re looking for an experienced leader to join our Property team based in Nudgee. The Head of Property plays a central role in planning, developing and implementing strategic and tactical property and maintenance strategies that meet Mercy Community’s needs and position for ongoing growth.

The Role…

This is a hands-on role, working with a group of passionate individuals who are committed to success. To be successful in this role, you must be comfortable with juggling changing and competing demands and deadlines and thrive on a challenge.

In this role you will work directly with senior managers to lead the businesses property and maintenance portfolios, as well as working with both internal and external stakeholders. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Purchasing/leasing of property, property maintenance and property divestment
  • Developing and managing the facilities management and capital asset maintenance plans for the property portfolio
  • Develop strategic property and maintenance plans, co-ordinate, implement and manage the strategy
  • Lead and oversee day to day property maintenance activities, including internal and external supplier arrangements
  • Develop property acquisition network of agents and contacts

About You…

  • Tertiary qualifications in Property or Facilities Management with at least 10 years’ experience in a similar strategic role
  • Experience working in a not-for-profit organisation highly desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in sourcing and fitting out residential and commercial premises
  • Strong understanding of relationship management and stakeholder service delivery
  • Strong leadership, relationship development, time management and negotiation skills
  • Good working understanding of NDIS residential requirements, including Specialist Disability Accommodation
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to obtain positive notice in the legislatively required personal history check in line with service stream compliance requirements
