Our Foster Kinship and Care Team based in our Caboolture office currently has a vacancy for a permanent full time Coordinator. We are seeking a motivated, proactive leader to provide effective leadership and management of the Foster and Kinship Care program, ensuring high quality services are delivered for clients and stakeholders.

To be eligible for this position you will require (Key Selection Criteria):

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Behavioural Sciences, Psychology or relevant discipline
  • Experience in providing assessment and intervention services for children, young people and families subject to statutory involvement, including an understanding of issues impacting upon vulnerable families, children and young people who have experienced significant trauma
  • The ability to effectively monitor and manage the performance and development of staff through supervision, coaching, conducting performance appraisals and arranging professional development
  • Demonstrated time management skills, with ability to balance and prioritise various client engagements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to produce accurate written case notes and reports that are clear and structured and evidence sound understandings with in a structured management and accountability framework with strict confidentiality provisions
  • Queensland Provisional Green or above Driver’s Licence.
  • Computer literacy, including proficient use of Microsoft Word and ability to use a client management system
  • The ability to undertake some afterhours work, including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to obtain positive notice in the Working with Children Check (Blue Card), positive Police Check and any other legislatively required personal history screening as required
  • Evidence of current vaccination against whooping cough or willingness to obtain prior to commencement
  • Willing and able to work within a Christian context and Mercy Community’s mission, purpose and values

It is beneficial for candidates to have:

  • Certificate IV Training & Assessment
  • An understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and societies and the issues which impact upon them in contemporary society together with a commitment to culturally appropriate engagement and practice

This position offers a competitive remuneration package of $78,921 - $82,478 gross per annum in line with our Enterprise Agreement (dependant on qualifications and experience) and other benefits in line with our Agreement.
