About the role

The primary purpose of this role is to provide an outreach service in the North Perth metro region, which includes assessment, interventions, case management and practical support to young people 12-25 years and their families. This includes assisting the YMHO Clinical Lead with administrative and supervision duties to ensure efficient provision of services. The role will be part time working 45 hours per fortnight, until June 30 3021 and will initially support the Clinical Lead with triage and service implementation.

The Senior role will have expertise in the provision of mental health issues, in addition to experience in the provision of evidenced-based interventions for complex or severe mental illness. This includes the treatment of young people with co-morbid presentations. In addition, they will be passionate about working with young people, and demonstrate experience working effectively in community settings and both the mental health and youth sector.

To be considered for this role, you will also require:

  • Tertiary Degree in relevant Human Services field (i.e. Psychology, Social work or a related discipline)
  • Current registration with an approved professional body.
  • Demonstrated significant experience working in a mental health setting with complex young people and their families
  • Understanding of evidence-based service models for working with young people and families
  • Experience working with Centrelink, other welfare agencies and professionals
  • Experience and knowledge in the areas of income support, education, substance abuse, working with other cultures, relationship counselling and child abuse
  • Knowledge of issues presented by homeless youth, those at risk of homelessness and their families
  • Experience and knowledge working from a trauma informed practice approach
  • Experience in case work practice within the community sector
  • Working with Children Check
  • Driver’s Licence
  • National Police Clearance (obtained within the last six months)
