About the role

The Youth and Homelessness team are seeking part time Housing Support Worker to work across our Housing Support Service and Homes For Youth and Families Accommodation Service.

  • Part time contract for 45.6 hours per fortnight
  • Contract until 30 June 2021 with possible extension subject to funding

The Housing Support Worker role works across several Homelessness programs in the Perth Metro area, the successful candidate will provide intensive outreach support to individuals and families to obtain, maintain long term accommodation while also providing informal counselling, advocacy, tenancy support, health and well being support and parenting support.

If you have experience working in with individuals and families experiencing homelessness and are motivated to break these cycles of disadvantage, we want to hear from you.

Please complete a maximum one-page cover letter addressing the following criteria:

  • Minimum 12 months case management experience
  • Minimum 12 months demonstrated experience working with people who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness who present with complex needs
  • Understanding of evidence-based service models for working with young people, adults and families
  • Experience in the areas of income support, domestic violence, education, substance abuse, trauma, working with other cultures, relationship counselling, parenting and child abuse
  • Experience working collaboratively with other agencies

Applicants will also be screened against the following criteria:

  • Tertiary Degree (Diploma or above) in relevant Human Services Field is required
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Current Class C Driver’s Licence
  • National Police Clearance (obtained within the last 6 months)

The successful applicant will need to provide their own vehicle and will be reimbursed for mileage.
