About the role

MercyCare is seeking a Communications Officer to join our Marketing team in West Perth on a part-time basis. We are seeking an excellent writer able to juggle creating diverse, high quality and engaging content across a wide array of sectors. Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Coordinator, the role is responsible for championing the MercyCare brand in external and internal communications.

To be considered for this role, you will also require:

  • Tertiary or equivalent qualification in Communications, Public Relations or Journalism
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role
  • Experience in copywriting, editing, proofreading and media relations
  • A high level of attention to detail and grammatical skills, and proficient in Microsoft Office
  • A demonstrated ability to implement a communications strategy
  • Experience in online channels and tools including website, E-newsletter and social media content management systems.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing tactics such as SEO and email marketing is desirable
  • National Police Clearance (obtained within the last 6 months)
