Play a key role in major mental health reform in Victoria to ensure everyone is supported to access the services they need, close to their home.
You will be part of the launch of one of the first of 60 Mental Health Locals in Victoria.
This is an amazing opportunity to shape the future of peer and community led mental health services for adults and older adults.
This local support is a key recommendation of the recent Royal Commission into Victoria’s mental health system and promises to make our community a better place to be.
The Frankston Adult and older Adult Local Mental Health and Wellbeing Service: Wellways, Mentis Assist, and Peninsula Health are working together to provide mental health and wellbeing supports in Frankston to ensure that everyone can access treatment and care close to home.
We are working with the local community and people who have personal experience of mental health issues and recovery to build these services so that they are the best they can be. Our service delivery will be informed by lived experience and co-produced by the local community.
Reporting to the Clinical Lead – Towards Change team, and employed by Mentis Assist, you will work within a multidisciplinary clinical team with other mental health nurses, occupational therapists, a dietician, creative arts therapist, and AOD clinicians to provide improved access to co-designed mental health services to adults and older adults living in the Frankston area.
As this is a newly created service, you will work within the agreed scope of practice to provide clinical nursing services for consumers with severe and complex mental health presentations. Your practice will be person centred, strengths based, trauma informed and recovery driven. You will value the experience of our consumers to help inform your practice.
As this is a newly created service, your ability to work flexibly and agilely within an evolving service delivery partnership is essential.
