  • Based at Sunshine Hospital and Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s Hospital with travel to NWMH locations may be required
  • Full- time Fixed Term for 12 months until 30th June 2022

As one of the largest health services in Victoria, and a team of more than 10,000 strong, we provide a comprehensive range of specialist medical, surgical, and mental health services; as well as rehabilitation, aged care, outpatient and community programs. We are a designated state-wide provider for services including trauma, and we lead centres of excellence for tertiary services in several key specialties including neurosciences, nephrology, oncology, cardiology and virtual health.

Your new team

The Sunshine Child & Adolescent Wellbeing Service:

  • Consultation-liaison model
    • Supervision and education to paediatric and mental health clinicians associated with Sunshine Hospital
    • Establishment of an paediatric consultation-liaison psychiatry outpatient service
    • Support children and adolescents with comorbid mental and physical illness who typically do not meet threshold for a tertiary child and adolescent mental health service

At MWAMHS, we strive to create the best possible learning opportunities available to complement and support both emerging and existing expertise. Staff are required to actively participate in their own practice development by engaging in available learning opportunities within the service, as well as being committed to sharing their knowledge with their colleagues. In the next 18 months, MWAMHS will be delivering new services to the community with two, 26-bed psychiatric inpatient unit and a 12-bed Women's Prevention and Recovery Centre which has the ability to accommodate young dependents.

Your success in this role, will be in your ability to:

  • Provide leadership and operational support to the new projects and new services or as directed by Area Manager
  • Provide support to the team in operationalising the service delivery models
  • Building strategic relationships with key stakeholders
  • Co-ordinate and deliver new quality initiatives in collaboration with consumers and carers
  • Be the driver of the development of a leading edge service models

Your Contribution

  • Using your knowledge, experience and expertise to help build a new clinical team
  • Provide clinical leadership
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of this new program and to participate in service development activities
  • Contribute to capacity building and to further develop capabilities within our team and stakeholders
  • To work collaboratively with our stakeholders and having the ability to build strong working relationships with primary health provider
