• Community Team 1 holds the Homeless portfolio that includes the Mental Health and Police Homeless Response (MhaP-HR) which relies on strong partnerships with relevant stakeholders.

• We are located at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and provide an assertive community treatment model of care to our consumers who are based in Melbourne’s CBD and surrounds.
• We specialise in supporting consumers living with serious mental illness as well as their carers and significant others.

• You will manage a small caseload of consumers.
• You will provide leadership to the team whilst representing your discipline as a senior clinician and lead relevant portfolios.
• You will participate in clinical service development activities within the team and encourage and support quality initiatives and research.
• You will provide supervision to staff as well as students within the relevant discipline.
• You will be supported by a supervisor, manager and team leader.

Your Contribution:

• Formal qualifications and registration OT3, P3, RPN4, SW3.
• Occupational Therapists and Social Workers must have at least 7 years’ experience in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of severe mental illness and psychiatric disability.
• Psychologists and Registered Psychiatric Nurses must have at least 5 years’ experience in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of severe mental illness and psychiatric disability.
• You have a strong understanding of the legal and ethical principles of the Mental Health Act.
• You are able to function effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and enjoy working autonomously.
• You are confident in the provision of support and treatment for people experiencing drug and alcohol related issues and their families.
• Excellent organisation, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in computer software use and information technology on the Microsoft Windows platform and ability to learn new programs and navigate databases.
