  • We are searching for a Senior Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 4, Social Worker Grade 3, Occupational Therapist Grade 3 or Psychologist Grade 3 to join the team as the AOD Mental Health Clinician
  • Fixed Term Full Time (rotating roster)
  • Based at the Northern Hospital, Epping

  • Who are we? The Northern Area Mental Health Service (NAMHS) provides a comprehensive range of specialist mental health services to people who reside in the local government areas of Darebin and Whittlesea

Your success in this role, will be in your ability to

  • Work in the Northern Hospital Emergency Department and other wards to support the treatment and management of AOD related presentations
  • Increase staff confidence and skills when responding to patients with AOD problems
  • Provide AOD/Dual Diagnosis assessment and secondary consultation
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of referral pathways to AOD treatment services and/or AOD brief intervention programs for TNH patients and staff

Your Contribution

  • Relevant qualifications and registrations
  • Capacity to undertake alcohol and other drug screening, assessment, treatment planning, brief interventions with clients who have co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with consumers, families/carers, colleagues and other service providers
  • Ability to work with consumers, family and carers from a range of cultural backgrounds, and to provide gender sensitive services
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development for self
