Following a recent merger with Karden Disability Support Foundation, Melba has recently secured a significant portion of transferring disability accommodation and respite services from the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services.

What does this mean?

Melba is growing, and we have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced House Supervisor to join an enthusiastic team based on the Mornington Peninsula. You will be considered a skilled and experienced member of your team with both direct support work responsibilities and practice support & supervision of other team members.

To be considered for this role, you must be able to demonstrate:

  • Recognised experience and knowledge in the field of disability and ability to apply policies and processes to meet challenges of known or evolving disability support situations
  • Specialised and contemporary understanding of disability and an ability to apply this theoretical knowledge to client support
  • Knowledge of and skill with coaching, supervision and planning practices
  • Knowledge of complex conditions that impact on disability and the capacity to remain up-to-date with related developments

You will also have in your toolkit:

  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Current Level 2 First Aid Certificate with CPR
  • Advanced Diploma Disability Work, Bachelor of Applied Science (Disability) or other equivalent qualification
  • Working with Children Check, Police Check and DWES Check

The successful candidate for this position will be initially employed by the Department of Health and Human Services and managed by Melba Support Services, until employment transitions to Melba in January 2021, as part of the Victorian transfer of Government Disability Services to the NDIS.

Employment, salary, and benefits will be in accordance with Disability Services Enterprise Agreement Victoria (DSEAV) 2018 – 2022, classification Level DDSO3A.
