Its purpose is to reduce the incidence and impact of macular disease – the leading cause of legal blindness and severe vision loss in Australia. MDFA has four pillars of work: prevention and early detection, supports and services, advocacy, and research.

About the opportunity

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator will support the development and implementation of marketing and communications to the macular disease community and health professionals, including supporting the Programs and Support Services team and the National Health Professional Education and Training program (HPET).

The role of the Marketing & Communications Coordinator position will play a pivotal part in the driving the development and growth of marketing and communications across traditional and digital channels.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Create, implement, track and report on campaigns
  • Write and develop copy for all communication platforms
  • Manage the marketing and promotion for education programs, and training programs to both consumer and healthcare professional markets
  • Manage marketing funnels and systems and improve engagement incrementally
  • Develop stories and newsletter content for health professionals
  • Oversee digital content for the teams including website, social platforms, and assist with managing SEO and SEM strategies.

Who we’re looking for

We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference and brings that energy to the role. In particular a candidate with the below skills would be held in good regard:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a marketing and communications role in health promotion, agency or similar industry.
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Marketing / Communication / Technology
  • Technically savvy, excellent communicator, and able to navigate traditional marketing into the digital and online communication.
  • Proficient is Adobe Creative Suite, Google Analytics, Marketing Automation tools (Mailchimp, Campaign Monitors)
  • Solid experience writing and creating content for traditional, online and social platforms
  • Experience running end to end campaigns
  • Positive ‘can-do’ attitude who works collaboratively with people and across teams
  • Experience of both SEO, SEM
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Experience in managing agencies/service providers
  • Experience in managing website CMS

Desirable:

  • Understanding of the Not for Profit sector
  • Positive ‘can-do’ attitude who works collaboratively with people and across teams
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT CRM
