The Opportunity

We are looking for a project officer (Global Health) to join the Global Health Strategic Initiative. Your key role is to provide support across MCRI to implement a risk management and compliance framework for all our projects in low- and middle-income countries. Part of your role will see you working to support ‘best-practice’ operations for MCRI researchers and local counterparts on projects that will directly affect child and adolescent health in disadvantaged populations. This role will see you work with a number of stakeholders so it is essential you can work collaboratively across teams to build engagement. You are highly focused and understand the importance of time management and attention to detail when working on a project milestones. Ideally you will have managed projects in a low- and middle-income country setting.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Drives project management to implement a risk management framework under supervision
  • Facilitate internal meetings/workshops with stakeholders with support and direction to achieve project outcomes
  • Manages competing priorities/deadlines to deliver projects in a timely manner
  • Present at internal and external forums as required
  • Assists and contributes to tender and grant applications
  • Is aware of, and adheres to, MCRI policy on Intellectual Property/Material Transfer Agreements/Contracts/Clinical and Public Health Outcomes

You Demonstrate:

  • Degree/Honours/Masters qualification in relevant field (eg International Development, Public Health, Project Management)
  • Demonstrated experience in project management in the international development sector, including risk management and compliance (safeguarding, counter terrorism, fraud, sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with experience communicating to a wide range of stakeholders
  • Shows a high level of attention to detail

On Offer:

  • 6 month contract
  • Part time 0.8 FTE
  • Salary Range $ 73,796 - 76,771pa (pro rata)+ super + salary packaging
