A rewarding position with Open Arms Veteran and Families Counselling – an arm of the Department of Veteran Affairs.
Undertake phone / video link based counselling and casework with current or former Defence Force Personnel and/or their family members, either individually or by undertaking therapeutic work with couples or families.
This employment is long-term locum work. You will be employed on an excellent casual rate through McArthur and be paid on a weekly basis for the hours worked. Full time hours are available but 4 days per week may also be considered. These positions are expected to continue between 1 – 3 years in duration.
Open Arms provides individual and couple/family counselling and psycho-educational groups to currently serving and veteran members of the defence force and their families. Open Arms is part of the Department of Veteran Affairs.
Successful candidates will have a minimum of 5 years experience in a role with a focus on mental health / trauma that involves a counselling component. It is essential that workers have a good knowledge of the issues impacting on veterans and their families and suitable referral pathways.

Workers must be able to work from home at the current time and then work from Melbourne CBD once restrictions are eased.
