Contract Trainer and Assessor - Community Services - Flexible location

Matrix On Board

About the Opportunity

We are seeking Cert IV TAE qualified Trainers to join our pool of contract trainers. We deliver accredited and non-accredited short courses in community services, financial literacy, workplace business skills and mentoring/workplace support skills. Our training is delivered nationally, and often in remote aboriginal communities in Central Australia, APY Lands and the Top End and in Alice Springs.

Engagements will be on a casual basis and include preparing and delivering training using our accredited assessment materials, administration, attendance and progression tracking using our online systems.

Our students are mostly based in regional and remote aboriginal communities and are usually employed staff in client facing roles, providing support and referral across a range of services (e.g. youth services, client casework, financial capability and wellbeing.) Students may have low literacy in English, limited digital literacy skills and varied work histories. Students may require support to attend training due to work and cultural commitments.

Contracts will vary, and may include training blocks of up to two weeks that require weekend stays away from home. Please let us know of your interest and we will discuss contract types with you.

About You

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders are encouraged to apply, and can be supported to obtain the qualifications needed.

You will be skilled in delivering training in a short course format in the Community Services/Welfare Sector, ideally holding a TAE40116 Cert IV in Training and Assessment and with a sound understanding of adult education principles. You will be experienced in working cross-culturally with Indigenous Australians; be able to support students with LLN needs; and be a warm, engaging trainer for groups and teams. You will also have good digital literacy and skills and have some experience in using online training delivery tools.

You will need to have or be willing to obtain a Police clearance and working with children card.  A drivers licence and 4WD experience is desirable but not essential.
