Marymead now operates throughout the southern and western regional areas of NSW as well as the ACT with offices in Goulburn, Wagga Wagga, Young, Moruya and Canberra. Marymead is seeking to fill the position outlined below within our Family and Relationship Services Unit.
The Mental Health and Wellbeing (MHWBU) Unit at Marymead contains several educational and therapeutic programs aimed at transforming the lives of vulnerable children and young people and their families. The structure consists of two components: Family Counselling and Client Pathways. New Horizons is an Emotional Wellbeing program within Family Counselling. The aim of the Unit is to support families living across Canberra and surrounding NSW regions through their key life transitions to achieve positive life outcomes.
The Clinical Outreach Worker involves service delivery and direct client contact in the New Horizons’ program within the Mental Health and Wellbeing Unit. The role is required on a 12 months full-time capacity with possibility of extension. As a Clinical Outreach Worker, you will use attachment-informed, strength and relationship based approaches to work with children and young people (CYP) 0-18, and their families. You will provide early intervention to address current difficulties and emerging mental health concerns that may compromise the CYP’s developmental outcomes by working with them and their families to strengthen functioning. The program provides a range of services to children and young people depending on the assessed need including home visiting, counselling, group work, phone counselling and referral to other relevant services.
