Marymead is a well-respected, community based, not-for-profit organisation that has provided a range of support services to children, young people and their families since 1967. Marymead now operates throughout the southern and western regional areas of NSW as well as the ACT with offices in Goulburn, Wagga Wagga, Young, Moruya and Canberra. Marymead is seeking to fill the position outlined below.

Role Description

Under general direction, the Service Coordiantor will coordinate services which support children and young people with disability to work towards their individual goals and enhance and promote their development and independence. This role works from a strengths-based perspective.

This position involves working with the Team Leader, the Ricky Stuart House Lead, Corals Cottage Lead as well as a team of support workers in order to maximise outcomes for children and young people with disability. It also involves the development and implementation of procedures in the provision of client support services. This is a part-time 6 months contract, with a requirement of 50 hours per fortnight.

Your duties and responsibilities in this role will be (but will not be limited to):

  • Implement overall program plans and strategies as instructed;
  • Promotion of program to external and internal stakeholders
  • Provide guidance and support to a team of support
  • Participate in fortnightly supervision sessions;
  • Support the on-call rotation
  • Engage with new clients referred to Accommodation Services (and their families), providing a tour of facilities, and explanation of services provided, and completion of Service Agreement documentation.
  • Implement strategies to develop skills and enhance independence;
  • Provide guidance to support workers to implement individual support plans as required;
  • Work closely with Team Leader to develop procedures in the provision of client support services;
  • Develop, maintain and track client service agreements
  • Billing for disability programs;
  • Manage all bookings for Short Term Accommodation;
  • Ensure up to date, well written, accurate and comprehensive records are completed by support staff, including medication administration procedures, documentation; behaviour management plans and critical incident reporting;

Qualifications, skills and experience

Essential:

  • Senior First Aid Certificate; (at own expense)
  • Experience in working with case management, billing and rostering software
  • Working with Vulnerable People Clearance (ACT) and Working with Children Check (NSW)
  • NDIS Worker Screening
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module
  • Current unrestricted drivers’ licence.

Desirable:

  • Sound organisational skills;
  • Ability and experience in working effectively as a team member/and supervisor;
  • Experience in working with people with a range of disabilities;
  • Familiarity with the principles and objectives of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
