We are proudly offering the following RTO courses: CHC22015 Certificate II in Community Services and CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Home and Community) / (Disability).
MARSS Australia also offers non-accredited training and a suite of other services to support its clients to achieve their goals.
MARSS has clear and detailed policy and procedures and dedicated RTO support and compliance team to ensure smooth and effective operations.
About the role
MARSS is currently looking for a contract Trainer and Assessor to provide training, assessment and student support services to students enrolled in RTO courses with MARSS Australia Inc. As an integral part of a busy and passionate team, your responsibilities will include:
- Participate in student enrolment and induction
- Conduct language, learning and numeracy assessments
- Conduct training in accordance with student individual needs
- Conduct assessment in accordance with the principles of assessment and rules of evidence
- Monitor student’s progress and report support needs to RTO team.
- Seek feedback from work placement providers
- Provide suggestions for improvement as they arise
- Raise any critical issues with the RTO team immediately
- Assistance with student resource development
- Act as MARSS Australia Incorporated ambassador with workplaces and students
- Attendance at MARSS Australia Incorporated meetings
- Participation in MARSS Australia Incorporated validation sessions
- Keeping accurate and detailed records of student support, training and assessment
Selection criteria
Qualifications
All trainer/assessors must hold either
- TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
And one of the following:
TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills or its successor or
TAELLN401A Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills
and one of the following:
TAEASS502 Design and develop assessment tools or its successor or
TAEASS502A Design and develop assessment tools or
TAEASS502B Design and develop assessment tools.
- or the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment,
- or a diploma or higher level qualification in adult education
And:
- at least a Certificate III level or higher qualification in Individual Support and/or Community Services
Experience:
- Continued/recent work experience or a work placement in the last 12 months in relation to (both)
- Industry/Vocation
- Competency based Training & Assessment –in Australia
Professional Development
- Evidence of professional undertaken in the last 12 months in relation to
- Individual Support and Community Services
- Vocational Education and Training knowledge
- Competency based training and assessment
- Professional development may include attendance at conferences, training sessions, networking meetings, participating in nationally recognised training, reading articles and discussion papers, subscription to e-newsletters and magazines
Skills and knowledge
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong and recent industry experience in community services and individual support including a sound knowledge of current industry workplace practices
- Training and assessment skills
- Thorough knowledge of the CHC Community Services training package & other packages as required
- Sound report-writing skills
- A strong student focus
- Commitment to quality education, classroom based delivery with work placement training
- Strong team skills and a commitment to working to develop and support a team based learning culture
Desirable but not essential
Preference will be given to candidates that provide the most detailed and sufficient evidence as requested below and
- Recent, relevant industry qualifications and experience and/or relevance of units of competency held
- Have worked in a not for profit and/or community organisation setting
- Can provide positive and recent, relevant referees
