The Position

Work alongside a team of specialised caseworkers to support the delivery and compliance of contemporary case management practice; promoting our service delivery to reflect a needs based and trauma informed approach. This role will allow you to work in a hands-on environment where you will have the ability to lead the Residential Care Caseworker team towards effective engagement and positive change with our young people.

Reporting to the South West Sydney Area Manager, you will be responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Driving the process of case planning and permanency planning for young people in the case management team.
  • The development and maintenance of internal and external partnerships and networks to assist client advocacy and service delivery
  • Ensuring service delivery is compliant with internal policy procedures, relevant standards and legislative requirements
  • Supporting staff through reflective supervision and daily guidance
  • Working alongside young people and their families to identify permanent placements through Family Finding and exploring restoration
  • Contributing to the Strategic and Operational Planning of the organisation; and
  • Coordinating the completion of assessments and collection of outcome data as required for reporting and care planning.

Undertaking activities outlined in the Caseworker position description and managing a caseload may also be a requirement of this position.

Essential Criteria:

To be suitable for the Senior Caseworker position, you must posses:

  • Relevant tertiary degree qualification (Social Work, Psychology or equivalent).
  • At least four years post-graduation case management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working with young people who have experienced complex trauma.
  • Previous experience working with families and young people who have been in contact with the child protection system.
  • Previous experience supervising staff.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
  • Working with Children Check.
  • Clear National Criminal History Check.
  • Unrestricted NSW driver’s license.
  • Ability to work in Australia.

Applicants who possess knowledge of the NSW Child Safe Standards for Statutory Out of Home Care, sound knowledge of relevant legislation and professional practice standards, experience in mental health or drug & alcohol services; as well as experience working with young people in Residential Care will be regarded highly.
