Marist180 is now seeking applications from an experienced, supportive and collaborative House Manager to lead our team of passionate Youth Workers within the Residential arena.

The position

The role of Therapeutic House Managers are key positions across Marist180. They not only support the needs of children and young people in our programs, but also act as a support network for our staff to ensure they are trained and armed with the right tools to create positive change through a therapeutic intervention framework and guided by principles of permanency planning.

Duties:

  • Coordinate and oversee rostering and staffing needs, leave, performance management, identified training needs, employee relations, house and vehicle security, program accounts such as petty cash and other resource control as well as assist the Area Manager in budgetary matters, 
  • Support the assessment needs of young people and work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to address these needs
  • Support staff through reflective supervision, daily guidance and strategic long term goal setting as well training and coaching.
  • Coordinate all activities associated within the home, ensuring an emotionally positive and physically stable environment for staff and young people
  • Coordinate the recruitment process for staff and carers including shortlisting and interviewing.
  • Communicate WH&S to staff and young people to ensure regulatory and organisational compliance, and address or refer WH&S issues in consultation with internal services

Desired Skills and Experience

Essential Criteria:

  • A relevant Bachelor in Social Work, Human Services or similar; or working towards a Bachelor with a completed relevant diploma already
  • Experience working with children and young people experiencing complex trauma and families within the child protection system and in a residential setting
  • Demonstrated training in trauma related training
  • Strong background in leading and supporting staff, as well as the ability to manage and recruit staff
  • Sound communication skills and experience liaising with key stakeholders and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Unrestricted and current NSW Drivers Licence
  • Clear National Criminal History Check
  • Current Working with Children's Check
  • Valid and current First Aid and CPR Certification
