Maribyrnong City Council is undergoing significant change in population growth, redevelopment, and a transitioning economy is leading to an influx of new residents, businesses and opportunities. Maribyrnong is becoming a sought after residential area and a destination for foodies.
Our Community Strengthening and Maternal and Child Health Teams are seeking applications from suitably experienced and appropriately qualified Family Wellbeing Workers to provide a high-quality service designed to meet the needs of residents experiencing family or domestic violence, whilst ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children in their care.
As our Family Wellbeing Workers, you will collaborate closely with the Team Leaders Community Strengthening or the Maternal and Child Health Service, to provide innovative and diverse approaches that ensure the best outcomes for vulnerable residents impacted by family or domestic violence. Both Family Wellbeing Worker positions will work collaboratively to ensure consistent advice and support is provided to families within our municipality.
We are currently recruiting two Family Wellbeing Workers with practical clinical experience, as follows:
Council may choose to consolidate both above-mentioned positions to create a temporary full-time role until December 2021 for the right candidate. Hours of work will then revert to 15.2 hours per week on a permanent part-time basis in January 2022, unless otherwise agreed and extended.
Are you already a Victorian Local Government employee? If so, we will also consider a secondment opportunity for the right candidate.
These positions require an understanding of the impact of family and domestic violence on diverse communities and their intersectionality. So, if you are a passionate advocate of vulnerable others seeking a role where you can make a genuine difference in a diverse and community-focused environment, apply now!
To apply, please submit your resume and a cover letter via our careers website telling us why you think you would be a great fit for this position and outlining your relevant experience in support of your application by the closing date listed. Please be sure to indicate in your application which Family Wellbeing Worker position is your preference.
