About the role

MacKillop is committed to providing services that are safe, accessible and of the highest quality. The Quality Improvement Coordinator will play a lead role in building the capacity of services to support ongoing service improvement through embedding a focus on responsiveness to service users and the establishment, development and implementation of systems, policies and procedures to ensure we meet all accreditation and certification standards.

The position is a member of the Practice Quality Unit and reports to the Manager of Quality and Compliance. The Practice Quality Unit is based in South Melbourne. This position will primarily support quality and compliance of out-of-home care services in Victoria, with some involvement in broader organisational quality goals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the capacity of the organisation to meet the requirements of Registration and Accreditation under relevant Acts and Regulations
  • Improve the capacity of the organisation to support service user participation and feedback
  • Assist in the coordination of quality reviews and development of quality action plans
  • Facilitate capacity building in relation to quality systems across the organisation
  • Contribute to organisational development including the development of practice documentation
  • Contribute to positive peer and organisational culture

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications
  • Sound experience in human services management, monitoring and review
  • Experience in quality assurance and service development
  • Experience in the development and operation of child, youth and family services
  • Ability to liaise and negotiate effectively with a range of government agencies
  • A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families
