In the past 12 months 75% of MRC's remote communities have received mobile coverage and 4g coverage. This has led to an increased usage of mobile devices for residents across the region. To assist residents with this global transition MRC has developed the MacConnect program. The role of Project Officer will play an integral part educating and training residents in, but not limited to, Digital Literacy and Digital Safety, as well as other duties pertaining to the role.
MacConnect is an exciting and new service MRC will provide to its residents.
MacDonnell Regional Council is seeking a dedicated Project Officer - Digital & Library Services to join our team.
Reporting to the Manager Community Safety, you will be responsible for implementing the MacConnect Program in 13 remote Indigenous communities.
Under MacDonnell Regional Council's Special Measures Scheme, Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander applicants are strongly encouraged to apply for this position and will be preferenced in the selection process if they meet all the essential selection criteria and are suitable at the position level.
Please note: It is a requirement of this role that successful candidates have a current Driver's Licence, with manual driving capacity. This role also requires a current Ochre Card or the ability to obtain one.
