Lutheran Care
  • Make life better for children with an iconic organisation that celebrates your successes
  • Embrace our continuous focus on learning, development and upskilling plus plenty of support
  • Enjoy salary packaging options and generous leave in addition to your competitive take-home pay

You're kind. You're compassionate. But you're also resilient and identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. For you, your culture and community are of uttermost importance, making a difference is what drives you to get out of bed, and you are looking for that perfect opportunity to put your passion to work.

Which is why we'll get along great.

We have an outstanding opportunity for an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person to join our team as the Aboriginal Cultural Worker (Foster Care Services).

In joining our team, you will provide and support culturally inclusive placements for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people in family-based care. You will be an integral member of the Foster Care Services team, and will work collaboratively with leadership and staff to ensure culturally responsive placements.

You will thrive in this next chapter of your career as you:

  • Promote strategies and practice for a service model which provides Aboriginal children and young people in care with appropriate and culturally responsive placements
  • Provide consultation on cultural considerations to placement coordinators for referrals of Aboriginal children and young people
  • Promote the Aboriginal Child Placement Principle at all levels within the program
  • Develop and maintain key relationship networks to achieve goals and improve outcomes for children and young people in care
  • Enhance connections with Aboriginal communities and Elders

Are you who we're looking for?

If you are, you'll be able to draw upon your extensive experience working with children and families, as well as your demonstrated knowledge of the diversity of Aboriginal communities.

In return for your hard work, you will be generously remunerated with a base salary of $74,172.28 - $79,807.52 (plus super and salary packaging). But more importantly, enjoy the reward of knowing your effort and passion for helping others can directly translate to improving the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in our communities

We invite applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, who are passionate about using their skills for social change.

This is an incredibly rewarding role and offers the right person a unique opportunity to join a dedicated team. If this resonates with you, we'd love to hear from you!
