To help maintain and grow this standard, we are seeking an experienced Operations Manager particularly with experience in the National Disability, Aged Care, Community Nursing and/or Home Care Sector to provide high quality nursing services and oversee our day to day operational activities. As an ideal candidate, you will have a sharp business mind and proven success managing multiple departments toward maximum productivity. You will be highly skilled in people management, human resources, finance, and IT management. Additionally, you will display a proven ability to develop and maintain an environment of trust, diversity, and inclusion within your team. Your ultimate responsibility is to undertake the role of clinical lead, increase operational efficiency, drive quality focused service delivery for maximum community value.

The role reports into the Chief Executive Officer and is based in Melbourne’s North.

We are offering a 6-month contract (with a view to extend), full-time based at our head office in South Morang. Monday to Friday. Flexible working arrangements exist.

Full time hours (negotiable hours for suitable applicant to fit around other commitments).

As our Operations Manager you will play a leading role in managing the provision of services across various streams.

TASKS AND DUTIES

  • Management of multiple operational streams
  • Developing operations strategies
  • Running the day-to-day operations such as the delivery of products and services
  • Planning and overseeing organisational change initiatives such as the implementation of a new systems and IT solutions
  • Implementing and managing quality assurance programs
  • Setting and reviewing budgets and managing costs
  • Managing the recruitment, induction, and training of staff
  • Analysing and improving processes
  • Enforcing health and safety procedures in line with organisational and regulatory requirements
  • Developing and delivery staff training, supervising, and developing staff
  • Complete nursing shifts in the community as part of your role

EXPERIENCE

Whilst your previous roles may vary according to the industry and organisations you may have worked in, you will typically have qualifications and/or relevant experience in community nursing, home care, disability support, financial, staff, and resource management, as well as communications, safety measures, risk management and quality control and training and development.

OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE

  • Deliver highest quality community nursing services through hands-on delivery and the development of cross-functional teams
  • Establish and manage relationships with partners, management, staff, and vendors to ensure proper operations of the organisation
  • Develop and implement quality management and compliance systems this includes ongoing management and Quality Reporting Challenge the status quo and implement process improvement opportunities (including technology), and develop staff, to enhance and sustain the organisation’s internal capacity
  • Actively pursue strategic and operational objectives
  • Ensure operational activities remain on time and within a defined budget
  • Track staffing requirements, hiring new employees as needed

DAILY AND MONTHLY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead, motivate, and support a large team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment, including setup and implementation of career development plans for all direct reports and problem resolution
  • Manage timely data collection to update operations metrics to achieve productivity targets, reduce cost per unit, eliminate errors, and deliver excellent customer service and care
  • Partner with cross-functional support teams in improving the proprietary tools and systems
  • Work closely with legal and safety departments to make sure activities remain compliant
  • Oversee materials and inventory management across all sites
  • Conduct budget reviews and report cost plans to Executive management

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years’ proven experience in operations management position preferably in National Disability/Aged Care or relevant industry
  • Financial Acumen-Strong budget development and oversight skills
  • Excellent ability to delegate responsibilities while maintaining organisational control of operations and customer service
  • Highly trained in conflict management and business negotiation processes
  • Knowledge of general business software and aptitude to learn new applications; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in operations management, business administration, or related field will be highly desirable
  • Working knowledge of management software programs
  • Strong IT skills, including database development
  • Multiple years of financial and account reporting
