Working within The Orange Door (Area) the Senior Hub Practitioner Multicultural community, will play a key role in building trusted relationships between the multicultural community and The Orange Door to promote access by members of the Multicultural Community to TOD services.

Senior Hub Practitioner (vulnerable community) will be responsible for driving culturally-targeted practice responses across the Hub and providing specialist practice and advice to the Hub workforce on complex cases. The role will build the capability of the Hub workforce to deliver contemporary practice and services responding to family violence, child and family vulnerability and functioning, and perpetrator interventions, in line with the Hubs Service Model. They will also provide direct client support as appropriate.

The Senior Hub Practitioner (vulnerable communities) will work in close collaboration with the Hub Management Team, Practice Leaders and Team Leaders to lead the delivery of high-quality, safe and effective service responses to (members of the multicultural community) seeking support and services through the Hub.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Providing specialist practice support to practitioners by:
      1. Providing secondary case consultation and technical input on complex cases
      2. Holding a small case load of complex cases involving people from the (nominated) community
      3. Working with practice leaders, Hub Team Leaders and Hub practitioners to identify and resolve clinical and practice issues as they arise, including where there are different views within the Hub team
      4. Establishing systems and procedures to guide practice and track progress
      5. Promoting evidence-based approaches, as well as continuous improvement in professional practice and the delivery of Hub services
  2. Building capability of practitioners to deliver contemporary practice and services responding to family violence, perpetrator interventions, and child and family development, and functioning in line with the Hubs Service Model, Integrated Practice Framework and relevant legislative frameworks (including the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 and Child Wellbeing and Safety Act 2005).
  3. Building and maintaining positive relationships with key stakeholders (nominate relevant stakeholders) to facilitate a partnership and collaborative practice approach and build the confidence of the (nominated) community to access Hub services.
  4. Providing sound judgement and authoritative advice on risks, priorities, accountability, and practice matters to the Hub team, and where relevant the Hub Manager and relevant governance groups.
  5. Using the Client Relationship Management System (CRM) for recording, analysis and review of client information.
  6. Keeping accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the Victorian Government's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
  7. Taking reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential

  1. Tertiary qualifications in a community/social service profession or other related field.
  2. Specialist knowledge and experience working in in partnership roles with organisations delivering services to people from the multicultural community.
  3. Demonstrated understanding of intersectional feminist theories of family violence, including the linkages between structural oppression and communities to inform practice.
  4. Demonstrated understanding of the nature and dynamics of family violence and knowledge of community resources and services to refer persons who have experienced family violence.
  5. Understanding of cultural and language barriers, disability and other factors that may further marginalise women and children in crisis.
  6. Demonstrated capacity to work independently as well as part of a team.
  7. Ability to deal appropriately with stress, maintain composure and apply effective engagement strategies with clients in crisis.

Desirable

  1. From a culturally and linguistically diverse background.
  2. Ability to speak a community language.
