Western Sydney MRC has an exciting opportunity for a Policy Officer to work across diverse communities in the local areas, working directly with the Senior Managers, CEO and the Board, and building links and networks with external stakeholders. This role aims to represent and promote issues of importance with communities and will lead statements, submissions and position papers for the organisation and communities. This is an opportunity to make a difference in meeting the aspiration and needs in a dramatically changing environment. This is a 12-month role (with possibility of extension) that is flexible position both in time and blended in working in and out of the office. Western Sydney MRC is family friendly work environment.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
Demonstrated advanced written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to undertake comprehensive research, interpretation and critical analysis skills
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain stakeholder relationships and working in partnership to design and deliver services
Demonstrated understanding of, and ability to apply, environmental context, data and legislation
Ability to manage staff and support them to meet deadlines

6.2 Ability to work flexible hours, with some weekend event attendance required.
6.3 Ability to travel as required.
6.4 Able to provide a clear Working with Children Check and Police Clearance (to be supplied before commencement).

8. Demonstrated strong links/connection to refugee and migrant communities in Western Sydney
