We are looking for an experienced Senior Mental Health Practitioner to provide leadership in the provision of holistic care and treatment to clients of the primarily Wyla Residential Unit, and support to our Elouera and Outreach Services with case reviews.

About the opportunity

You will provide Senior MH Practitioner support to a team of passionate and professional clinical and support staff by:

  • Providing expert clinical advice to clients, carers and staff across the program
  • Participate in all aspects of the unit and assist in the promotion and ongoing running of the program
  • Conduct mental health assessments, develop and facilitate implementation and evaluation of management care plans for clients with complex needs
  • Provide clinical leadership in crisis situations to support workers
  • Act as the liaison between different programs to promote continuity of care and exchange of information.
  • Provide group and individual counselling

The salary range for the role is $82,992.00 to $85,481.00 annually. We are fortunate that our employees can also access up to $18,540 salary packaging which increases their take home pay.

What you will bring to the role

  • Bachelor level tertiary qualification in Psychology or Nursing or allied health (or similar field).
  • Min 5 + years working in a role carrying out mental health assessments, crisis prevention, developing appropriate care plans and overseeing resulting treatment for clients.
  • Demonstrated significant experience working with clients with complex needs, AOD dependencies and/or mental health.
  • Proven experience in working in partnership with other health care professionals in the coordination of care for clients.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the issues that affect mental health consumers in treatment and the community
  • Contemporary knowledge and application of evidence-based individual and group interventions and clinical practice in drug and alcohol treatment and recovery.
