About the role

This is a parental leave cover opportunity, to May 2023. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Alcohol and Other Drug Counsellor Case Manager to deliver integrated individual counselling and case management. As an AOD Counsellor Case Manager you will work with a case load of clients and their families who are wanting to overcome their alcohol and drug dependence. You will provide high quality engagement, assessment counselling and support services to your clients using you experience in evidence-based practice principles for withdrawal, support and recovery.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide intensive and ongoing support to people who are, or have, undertaken detox through the service
  • Provide high quality engagement, assessment, counselling, case management and support services to clients and their families using evidence-based practice principles
  • Conduct clinical review of individual treatment plans, collaborating with the relevant Programs team and external service providers where necessary
  • Develop, implement, and review individual treatment goals, which include discharge plans and relapse prevention plans
  • Provide pre- and post-rehabilitation support and relapse prevention planning

About you

You will be an experienced Counsellor Case Manager who is dedicated to make a change in our client’s journey to recovery. Your ability to working autonomously and collaboratively in a team will ensure success in the role. You will also demonstrate the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a related area health services discipline or equivalent experience
  • Applied knowledge in contemporary evidence based AOD counselling practice, case management and intake and assessment
  • Experience in mindfulness and relapse prevention.
  • Strong experience in facilitating groups/sessions in relation to AOD.
  • Sound interpersonal skills, including a high standard of written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of the local region is highly desirable
  • Hold a Blue Card (or ability to apply)
  • Current unrestricted Australian Driver’s License

The salary range for this role is $74,172.04 to $88,702.64 annually dependent on skills, qualifications and experience. We are fortunate that our employees can also access up to $18,540 salary packaging which increases your take home pay.
