Lives Lived Well is a leading support organisation for people who have problems with alcohol and drugs as well as other addictions such as gambling and associated mental health issues. We provide support services including residential rehabilitation and community counselling in more than 40 locations across Queensland and NSW.

Mirikai offers a residential alcohol and drug treatment program, which is part of a continuous package of care. Residents will undertake an evidence-based live-in program, to maximise their chances to make a successful transition.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a newly established full-time role, reporting to the Team Leader. As the Admissions and Welfare Coordinator you will support young adults with complex needs, helping them to settle into their new residential environment. You will utilise a case management model to coordinate client’s welfare needs. You will support all new admissions on day one with a warm welcome, navigate the admission process and induct clients into our program through a supportive group process.

As the first point of contact, you’ll be gathering information which will require clinical skills to identify any concerns and triage immediate needs as well as making the appropriate referrals. You will also be responsible for recording various financial transactions including admission fees, medication invoices, banking, accounts receivable, administering and reconciling petty cash and resident board and lodgings.

An addition to the role is coordinating our volunteer and peer mentoring program together with our OASIS Treatment Facilitator, which supports staff in delivering care in the afterhours space to the residential community.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone who has a holistic approach to care, understands welfare needs, is admin minded and can navigate finance systems and invoicing given you are responsible for all financial components of a clients’ treatment journey.

This position will suit new graduate social work student who is wanting to start in an AO/MH career.

Additionally, you will also possess the following skills and experience:

  • A strong understanding of evidence-based practice in an Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) setting (i.e., harm minimisation approach, supporting dually diagnosed clients etc.)
  • Experience in case management
  • Highly developed communication and engagement skills
  • A flexible and collaborative approach to working within a team
  • A commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and professional development
  • Current Australian-issued Drivers Licence
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant human services discipline with additional AOD qualifications highly regarded.

The base salary range for this role is $74,179 to $79,810 per annum plus superannuation.
