We are looking for an experienced and passionate Team Leader for this newly created role to provide leadership for two services (Break Through for Families and Gambling Intervention) delivered in key locations across Queensland.

The Break Through for Families service is an established service which engages with families to deliver Breakthrough for Families groups, public workshops, seminars, referrals, forums to connect with families and the broader community and deliver individual counselling/brief support.

The Gambling Intervention program is a new innovative service, where part of your role will be working with the Clinical Services Manager (Gambling) to establish the service and support the new team. This service provides Gambling Intervention support to our current AOD clients identified with a comorbid gambling issues.

Location can be negotiated to be based/work from Burleigh Heads, Woolloongabba, Spring Hill, Rockhampton, Townsville, Cairns, Sunshine Coast (if your preference is outside of these options we are happy to negotiate)

About the role:

In this full-time, ongoing position, you will provide clinical and operational management across two geographically spread programs. This will include:

  • Lead the provision of high quality engagement, assessment, counselling, case management and support services to co-morbid AOD and Gambling clients and their families
  • Lead the clinical review of individual treatment plans, collaborating with the relevant Program teams and external service providers where necessary
  • Provide expert Gambling practice advice and secondary consultation to AOD Counsellors and Case Managers
  • Liaise with local Team Leaders in each service where Family Counsellors and Gambling Intervention Counsellors are located to ensure the efficient operation of programs and service delivery
  • Establish the new Gambling Intervention Service

What you will bring to the role:

  • Tertiary qualifications in social work, counselling or mental health (or related discipline)
  • Strong experience providing leadership and mentoring to a multi-disciplinary team, geographically dispersed at multiple sites
  • Significant experience working with clients with complex needs, gambling problems, AOD dependencies, and/or mental health
  • Extensive experience and knowledge in contemporary evidence based Gambling and AOD counselling practice, case management and intake and assessment
  • Experience in developing and facilitating evidence based clinical education programs
  • Experience and understanding of working with AOD and Gambling comorbidities
