Little Sparrows Speech Therapy is a busy and growing practice located in the city of Cairns, Queensland. We provide speech pathology services to all people, with a special focus on helping children, especially those who have a disability.

We are passionate about helping children develop skills around play, learning, communication, making friendships and participating in everyday activities.

We are looking for someone amazing to join our outstanding team of speechies in making a difference. The ideal person should be focused on providing supportive, family centred therapy and should be friendly, warm and fun-loving at heart. You will be joining an enthusiastic and experienced team that loves embracing new technologies and consistently researching the latest developments in the field. You’ll be part of a team that works hard but has fun in everything we do.

The position will provide the right applicant with:

  • Diverse caseloads with a range of different cases (paediatric, adults, disability & dysphagia) allowing you to broaden their skillset
  • A serious range of assessments and a massive toy library
  • Dedicated clinic room to set up and make your own home away from home
  • A dedicated iPad for use in therapy, full workstation & resource budget available
  • Innovative therapy platforms including social skills groups, in-clinic and community workshops (travel allowance included)
  • Extended 1 hour lunch breaks to decompress and because we all need time to enjoy a nice cup of coffee!
  • Weekly mentoring program with a senior speech pathologist
  • Annual PD Budget
  • Support of an admin team, meaning you can concentrate on doing what you do best
  • A caring and fun-loving team that is supportive and always happy to help
  • A relocation allowance can be made available for applicants outside of the Cairns region - (T&C's apply)

The ideal candidate must have:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Speech Pathology
  • Membership with SPA (or ability to obtain this)
  • A driver’s license & access to a car
  • A current Working with Children Blue Card (or ability to obtain this)
  • Great Energy, Be Warm, Enthusiastic & Passionate about their work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Great organisation & time management skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Desire and drive to make a difference through high-quality service to all children & their families
