Little Dreamers is working to improve the quality of life for Young Carers across the country.

Our vision? To ensure that every single Young Carer around the world is supported by someone or something by 2030.

We are Australia’s leading Young Carer organisation, supporting young people between 4 – 25 years across a range of support programs. Over the past 10 years, Little Dreamers has become a game changing force in the Young Carer space.

Whatever the support service, a common thread runs through everything we do - that young people should have access to the childhood that everyone deserves. Every Little Dreamers program works towards supporting Young Carers outside of their caring role, ensuring that these young people, have the same access to opportunities that their non-caring peers have.

THE POSITION

With rapid growth, Little Dreamers is looking to expand our Dream Team. We are now specifically looking for a team of Community Engagement Coordinators to build local partnerships, increase community engagement and facilitate Little Dreamers’ programs in your area. Specifically in Townsville and Bundaberg.

This is your opportunity to build a career connecting with Young Carers and supporting them to improve their health and wellbeing. If you’re committed to supporting Young Carers, increasing community awareness, building partnerships with local schools and support networks, as well as have experience in public speaking and/or facilitation, then this is the job for you.

As a Community Engagement Coordinator, you will play a central role in building interest and facilitating three programs in various locations across QLD:

1. The Young Carer Project: Creating a kind, safe and supportive school environment where Young Carers can thrive through a teacher and Young Carer-led approach.
2. The In-Person Peer Support Program (in-person or online): An eight-week program that involves weekly one-hour structured group support sessions.
3. School Holiday Program: A day of fun activities in the local community, that provides respite.

A week-long training program in Little Dreamers' Brisbane office will be provided in late March/Early April prior to role commencement.
