Voluntary Positions at Lismore Environment Centre 

3 or 6 hour shifts available:

• Tuesday: 10am to pm, 1pm to 4pm
• Wednesday: 10am to 1pm, 1pm to 4pm
• Friday: 1pm-4pm

Situated in the Lismore Transit Centre building, Molesworth Street, Lismore. 

About Us

The Lismore Environment Centre is a community organisation funded by donations, grants and retail sales and staffed entirely by volunteers. The Centre started in August 2014 after the Bentley Blockade (against unconventional gas), as a way for concerned citizens to continue to network, support each other and stay informed.

Our Services

We provide information relating to various aspects of the Environment including rainforests, local waterways and regeneration. 

We assist travellers with Transport Information. 

The Position 

Volunteers will work in the role of Retail Assistant and Information Attendant during shifts at our centre.

Retail Assistant in the Lismore Environment Centre’s Eco Shop. This includes Shop Set-up and Pack down.  

Information Attendant providing a Public Transport Information Service which requires giving out timetable information for local and regional buses and booking tickets for Premier Motor Service. 

Volunteer Induction and Training will be provided.  

There are opportunities to 

• Skill share in volunteer community, organising of events and campaigns,

• Administration and retail development of the shop, (in line with a local sustainable ethos)

• And many more interesting projects  

We are able to offer some further training for our volunteers.
