Relationship Matters also provide Employee Assistance Programs, training and consulting to workplaces.

About the role

We currently have an opportunity for a self-motivated, client-focused family relationship counsellor. You will undertake intake and assessment interviews, and offer counselling and therapeutic interventions to individuals, couples and families seeking assistance with their relationships under the provisions of the Family Law Act 1975.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Extensive individual, family / couples counselling, assessment and case management interventions
  • Client focused practitioner with demonstrated experience in fee-for-service delivery
  • Provision of therapeutic counselling and group work interventions
  • Capacity and experience in managing and conducting an independent autonomous role
  • Strong teamwork skills and values, with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Computer literacy is essential

About you

You will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work or Occupational Therapy and Nursing, and postgraduate studies, with a minimum of 2 years' experience;
  • Registration with AHPRA or AASW;
  • Proficiency in contemporary methods of relationship counselling and family therapy, along with direct experience in the field;
  • An understanding and practical knowledge of the Family Law Act 1975 and be eligible as a Family Counsellor under the Act; and
  • The ability to contribute to the provision of exceptional counselling services and to promote the profile of Relationship Matters in the community.

A professional in your field, you can work independently while working within a cohesive, committed and high performing team. Together with your exceptional level of ethical standards and well-developed interpersonal communication skills, you will have the capacity to manage and ensure high standards of practice.

Previous experience working in a human services environment would be highly regarded.
