About the Role

Working directly with children and young people with complex needs and disability in a 24/7 residential setting in the Central Coast, this is a challenging but rewarding opportunity for you to make a difference in a child or young person's life as a Youth Worker, Residential (Disability).

The successful candidate will have a Diploma in Community Services, Youth Work or similar, have experience working in a residential setting and supporting young people with complex needs and disability, as well as availability to work across a 24/7 fortnightly rotating roster including sleepovers and active night shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day to day care, supervision and transport to children and young people
  • Actively participate in activities and encourage community engagement whilst increasing competencies of children and young people
  • Develop, implement and monitor individual plans 
  • Follow medication, hygiene and meal management plans
  • Crisis intervention management
  • Personal care
  • Lifting/manual handling
  • Support the involvement of family
  • Maintenance of progress notes and report writing

Skills & Experience

  • Diploma in Community Services, Youth Work or similar
  • Experience in working with people with children and young people with disability
  • Experience working with complex behaviours
  • A current First Aid Certificate
  • A current unrestricted NSW Driver Licence
  • Ability to work various shifts (sleepover & active nights) throughout the week

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check.
