About the Role

Join our South Western Sydney Family Based Care team as a Youth Worker on a casual basis. The Youth Worker role in based in the community and involves providing high quality, flexible support with a focus on enhancing the lives of children and young people.

The casual nature of this role means we are requiring flexibility and availability for early morning, day and afternoon shifts. Shifts will include one or all of the following tasks;

Key Responsibilities

  • Work within a team to deliver quality services for children and young people whom are living in a family-based care setting.
  • Mentoring children and young people
  • Transportation for children and young people to appointments or to and from school
  • Supervising contact visits for children and young people with their families
  • Alternate care arrangement shifts, either full day or sleep over shifts
  • Develop individual, therapeutic, recreational or skills-development activities that are consistent with and supportive of the care plans developed for each child.

Skills & Experience

  • Certificate III in Youth Work, or similar or equivalent experience
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Unrestricted drivers’ licence
  • Commitment to improving the quality of life, skills and independence of children and young people
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
