About the Role

Join our new team in Mororo (Yamba/Maclean Region) as a Youth Worker, Residential on a part time basis. This is a challenging but rewarding opportunity for you to make a change in a Young Person's life.

Working directly with Young People, this position is based in a 24/7 Residential Setting with fortnightly rotating shift rosters including active night shifts. The successful candidates will need to have a Certificate 3 in community services, youth work or similar (with willingness to commence a Diploma in this area of study) as well as experience working with complex behaviours. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day to day therapeutic care, supervision and transport to children and young people
  • Actively participate in activities and increase competencies of young people
  • Mentoring 
  • Develop, implement and monitor individual plans 
  • Maintenance of progress notes and report writing
  • Support the involvement of family

Skills & Experience

  • Certificate 3 in Community Services, Youth Work or similar and a willingness to commence studying a Diploma course in Community Services, Youth Work or similar
  • A current First Aid Certificate
  • A current unrestricted Driver Licence
  • Ability to work various shifts (sleepover & active nights) throughout the week in Mororo
  • Prior knowledge and/or experience working with young people with complex trauma histories

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
