About the role

Join our Western Sydney team on a Full time, part time or casual bases and provide direct care to children and/or young people aged 9 -14 years in Transitional Homes. As a Youth Worker you will have a wide range of responsibilities, from program activities, child/young person development and supervision, and promotion of a safe homelike environment. This role is across 24/7 shifts, including sleepovers or active nights.

To be successful in this role you must offer energy, safety and commitment to our residents through genuine, caring and empathetic engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a safe environment through day to day care, supervision and transport to children and young people
  • Actively participate in activities and increase competencies of young people
  • Personal care
  • Mentoring 
  • Develop, implement and monitor individual plans 
  • Report writing and maintenance of progress notes 
  • Support the involvement of family

Skills & Experience

  • Diploma in Community Services or Youth Work or equivalent experience
  • Commitment to complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) Training and be assessed as TCI competent within the probationary period
  • Commitment to complete CARE Training and be assessed as CARE competent within the probationary period
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • A current drivers licence
