About the role

Joining our Child, Youth and Family team on a permanent full-time basis based in Wollongong, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading all functions within our Intensive Therapeutic Care - Significant Disability (ITC SD) Program in Wollongong and parts of Western Sydney, including clinical support, case management and the ITC SD homes.

You will be responsible for monitoring, coaching and supporting clinicians and case managers and providing your clinical expertise and guidance in the formulation of therapeutic care plans for children and young people with trauma background and significant disability in our care.

Travel will be required within a 1-hour radius around Wollongong CBD along with occasional travel to Western Sydney in order to support ITC SD home in those locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Intensive Therapeutic Care - Significant Disability program (ITC SD) through providing clinical support and program leadership
  • Develop a thorough working knowledge of Children and Residential Experiences (CARE) and Therapeutic Crises Intervention (TCI)
  • Manage a team of Case Managers to enable them to deliver excellent outcomes for children and young people
  • Communicate with the FACS Therapeutic Coordinator, Caseworkers and other relevant FACS workers to monitor the wellbeing, progress, change of circumstances and outcomes of Children and Young People
  • Engage with the NDIA and lead the development of NDIA plans for young people in the program
  • Provide an environment free of abuse, harm and exploitation for people we support

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Psychology or Social Work or Social Science
  • Current registration or eligibility for registration with the professional body relevant to qualifications
  • Significant experience in a therapeutic residential care setting or working in a clinical environment with Children and Young People in OOHC
  • Experience in the disability sector
  • Demonstrated experience to manage services within a budget
  • Team leadership and management experience
  • Proven experience in building and managing relationships with key stakeholders
  • Significant experience using evidence-based assessment tools with young people with trauma informed behaviour and using resultant assessments to inform planning

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check.
