About the role

Our NDIS Service Development Team is growing and is seeking a Team Leader to support,  motivate, mentor and train our Support Coordination and Recovery Coach teams ensuring the ongoing performance of the team and the safe and timely provision of services to our clients.

In this role you will be responsible for overseeing the daily Support Coordination and Recovery Coach services and will ensure that our supports are delivered to NDIS participants independent from other organisational supports, allowing each participant full choice and control over the services implemented for them.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage the daily operations of support services, including managing service agreements, delivery of client value, claiming and ensuring we achieve our operational objectives as defined through the business strategy
  • Formal supervision and management of a team of Support Coordinators and Recovery Coaches, including reflective practice coaching and mentoring.
  • Ensure the team complies with NDIS legislation, NDIS Quality And Safeguard Practice Standards, and other relevant legislation and Life Without Barriers policies. 
  • Provide coaching and developing opportunities, manage conflict and address performance issues within your team.
  • Work with participants, families, carers, guardians and service providers to understand NDIS legislation and plan development processes. 
  • Development and maintenance of positive relationships with all stakeholders, including families. 
  • Provide a reflective framework for the continued improvement of support and service provided for our clients.

This position is offered on a 12-month, full time basis, located in our Unley office and working across the metropolitan Adelaide with flexible working arrangements.

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary level qualification in human services or similar.
  • Exceptional understanding of the NDIS framework and legislative principles.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting clients with complex needs and circumstances, in particular psychosocial disability.
  • Experience managing/supervising staff in the NDIS or Disability sector, including a lived experience workforce.
  • Strong coordination, leadership and peer support skills. 
  • The ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders including peers, employees, external organisations, funding bodies and government
  • Strong written and computer skills for the creation of plans, programs, reports, correspondence and other documents.
  • High level communication, influencing, liaison and negotiation skills.
  • Current Driver’s License required.

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Check and DCSI/DHS Disability Services Employment Screening.
