About the role

Working within our Disability services team, this position is responsible for coordinating the day to day running of 2 Supported Independent Living services (Group Homes) whilst providing quality, hands on support to People with Disability to achieve their individual goals. 

You will also provide ongoing guidance, mentoring and training to a team of Disability Support Workers to ensure that a high standard of support and care for clients is achieved. 

This is a Permanent Full Time position, based in Dubbo

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct assistance and support to People with Disability
  • Coordinate and manage the daily operations of support services
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders including clients, families and guardians.
  • Provide ongoing guidance, mentoring and training to a team of Disability Support Workers.
  • Identify and develop community resources that can be used by clients being supported
  • Complete documentation and administrative tasks including regular review of client services agreements, individual plans and available client documentation to ensure services are being delivered as agreed with client and/or their authorised delegate.

Skills & Experience

  • Certificate IV Community Services, Disability or similar and/or equivalent experience
  • Current Drivers Licence, NSW Working with Children Check & First Aid certificate
  • Previous experience in leading and/or mentoring a team utilising positive and proactive approaches
  • Demonstrated experience supporting clients with complex needs and behaviours of concern
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively and in partnership with a range of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer choice, inclusion and quality practice

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
