About the role

We have numerous casual roles available throughout Canberra and surrounding suburbs for immediate starts (pending successful interviews and clearance of relevant background checks). Individual shifts range between 1 to 3 hours, ideal for candidates seeking additional casual work, work during school hours or students who are available between Monday and Sunday from 7am to 10pm.

As a Support Worker, you will be actively supporting our Disability and Health and/or Aged Care clients to remain living independently at home through the provision of social support, personal care and domestic assistance.

The successful candidates will have strong communication skills and demonstrate a passion for supporting and promoting the individual needs of our clients. Candidates with a relevant Certificate III and previous experience supporting clients in a one on one, in their home or in the community will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities  

  • Social support and transportation including transport to medical appointments, grocery shopping and social activities
  • Personal care including showering, grooming and dressing assistance
  • Housekeeping and domestic assistance including cooking, household cleaning and laundry assistance.
  • Administer basic first aid and manual handling as required 

Skills & Experience  

  • Good communication skills and a passion for supporting and promoting the individual needs of our clients.
  • A current unrestricted Australian drivers’ licence
  • Reliable registered vehicle with comprehensive insurance
  • A current First Aid Certificate
  • Certificate III in Individual Support, Home and Community Care or Aged Care would be highly regarded

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and a Working With Vulnerable People Card.
