About the role

As part of a national Strategy and Engagement team, this position is responsible for cascading the strategy into business plans to ensure alignment with Life Without Barriers’ overall strategic goals. The position will help manage the maintenance of an effective and aligned business planning process which includes the development of relevant measures to effectively monitor organisation-wide performance against this strategy. This is a seven-month parental leave contract located in either Sydney, Melbourne, Newcastle or Brisbane.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level coordination of the strategic and annual business planning process to ensure effective implementation
  • Lead strategic projects across the organisation to support the delivery of the strategy
  • Manage a small team
  • Monitor and evaluate the implementation of strategic & business plans, identifying where there may be deviations or risks and recommend appropriate corrective actions
  • Develop programmatic strategic directions statements and work with Business Development and Service Delivery teams to implement across jurisdictions
  • Assist in implementing relevant measures that will monitor and measure organisation-wide performance against LWB’s Vision and Strategic Direction Statements
  • Prepare reports on the strategic and business planning process
  • Monitor and proactively analyse internal and external trends that may impact the organisation to meet its strategic objectives or business plans and engage with organisational leaders to develop appropriate responses to these trends
  • Research and maintain contemporary knowledge of industry changes and developments to inform strategic directions and plans.

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Management or other relevant field
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and coordinating strategic and/or business planning processes in a large, diverse and complex organisation
  • Experience in offering strategic insight and leading research into industry, client and competitor trends
  • Ability to influence and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders
  • Advanced and proven ability to think laterally and strategically
  • Excellent written communication skills and demonstrated experience in preparing reports, correspondence and other written material.

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
