About the Role

The Shared & Supported Living Coordinator ensures that clients who require a high level of support are able to achieve their goals in their homes and the community. Managing a team of 5 Team Leaders and their direct reports, you will continue to build a strong team that is very focused on delivering quality supports to our clients.

We are looking for someone who is confident in managing a team, has an understanding of Supported Independent Living and can engage with clients, families, and key stakeholders to deliver a range of supports that reflect the individual needs and goals.

Based in either our Dubbo or Orange office on a 12month, full time contract, you will be required to travel to Dubbo, Orange and Mudgee regularly, to continue to supervise and mentor your team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with customers to build rapport and understand their needs to ensure that direct support is delivered
  • Advocate where required with the NDIA, support coordinators, families, guardians and other stakeholders to respond to customer changing needs or goals
  • Monitor, and where appropriate, adjust support based on the clients changing needs.
  • Provide guidance, supervision and support to direct support staff.
  • Promote a positive environment through demonstrating good communication and interpersonal skills and appropriate peer support.
  • Support and promote the work of Life Without Barriers, maintaining a positive image of the organisation in accordance with the level of position.

Skills & Experience

  • Certificate IV or equivalent in Disability, Mental Health or Community and Social Services
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence & First Aid Certificate
  • Strong understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
  • Demonstrated team management and leadership experience
