About the role:

We are a seeking an experienced, motivated and enthusiastic full-time Senior Support Worker to join our 24/7 supported residential home supporting Aboriginal men with a disability and to clients living in the community in Ceduna.

In this role you will actively support the individual needs of people who live in these homes, supporting and promoting their skills and abilities, providing support with activities of daily living and developing, implementing and monitoring their Individual Plan. Demonstrate leadership and peer support to assist the team to provide support to the people to work towards achieving their outcomes.

The role will require the successful applicant to be available and willing to work within a 24/7 roster that includes regular shift work, including night shifts, weekends and public holidays.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide quality direct support to the individuals in line with their support needs, the program they are accessing, and all support plans including the person’s Individual Plan
  • Support the person to increase their skills, independence, personal growth and development through the provision of active support and their enhanced participation as a valued member of their community
  • Fulfil allocated key worker roles with supervision from line manager
  • Implement skills development programs and identify and support learning opportunities for the individuals
  • Assist in the delivery of programs that facilitate the person’s development of social networks and inclusion in community activities
  • Establish rapport and collaborate effectively with the person and their families to achieve positive outcomes for service users

Skills & Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in the health or community services field (preferably disabilities) and/or relevant experience
  • Current Provide First Aid Certificate
  • Current unrestricted Driver Licence
  • The ability to fulfil the requirements of the Key Worker role

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
