About the role

Permanent full time based in either our Newcastle, Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane offices. You will pursue proactive media opportunities that are aligned to the strategic position of Life Without Barriers in the sector, and marketing strategies and supports relevant business activities. Your experience working proactively in a fast paced, large, agile organisation will be key to your success.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the execution of the media strategy
  • Proactively seek media opportunities
  • Develop and manage relationships with key media partners
  • Manage the relevant contracts in relation to media monitoring
  • Develop communication plans to manage media incidents and risks
  • Develop communication summaries intended to capture and report on media issues and asses media risks
  • Develop and distribute releases to the full range of media outlets
  • Develop and sustain relationships with all internal stakeholders to ensure successful media leadership and management is provided
  • Design and develop regular media reports

Skills & Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing communication plans, approaches and mechanisms for large, complex, geographically dispersed organisation
  • Demonstrated experience and success in both traditional and interactive communication channels
  • Demonstrated experience of planning and delivering media events
  • Experience working proactively in a fast paced, agile environment
  • Strong relationships with both local and national business and industry media outlets
  • Experience in acting as a company spokesperson; comfortable and skilled in both broadcast and print media interviews
