About the role

This is a unique opportunity to make a difference with data.

In this newly created role, reporting to the Data & Analytical Manager, you will be instrumental in supporting the business. You will provide key insights in relation to both strategic and operational objectives and will assist to improve the lives of our clients.

You will consider a range of complex challenges and will work with subject matter experts to consider these problems from both qualitative and quantitative perspectives. You’ll propose and action unique ways to use data to support decision making and drive business innovation.

You will have experience in sourcing, transforming, blending and modelling data using a variety of approaches and applying a range of analytical methods. You will do both formal analysis to model and apply existing business rules, and you will do experimental work to find innovative ways to add value to the business. This a 12 month contract role based in our Richmond office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement data and analytics strategy for LWB
  • Assist with data cleansing, preparation, extract-transform-load, data mart development, report development, data visualisation and predictive and statistical modelling
  • Consult with key stakeholders to understand their data needs, and to identify opportunities for improvement and value add through data analysis
  • Communicate data and analytics work to a variety of business stakeholders via presentations, data visualisations and written materials
  • Provide technical advice and assistance to end users, managers and the business
  • Adhere to all security management processes and procedures, aligning with industry requirements and ITIL frameworks, ensuring LWB information is protected and secured

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary level qualifications
  • Working knowledge of SQL and data transformation, analysis and modelling using a language such as Python or R; or a tool such as KNIME or Alteryx
  • Experience using analytical work to drive or influence business outcomes
  • Experience in developing, applying and interpreting predictive models
  • Experience in applying business and marketing analytics
  • Demonstrated experience developing clear and effective dashboards using a business intelligence tool such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Proven problem solving skills, with a capacity to o analyse problems from a range of both qualitative and quantitative perspectives, and to produce original ideas and solutions
  • The ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders including managers, peers and employees
  • Excellent written communication skills for the creation of correspondence and, as required, other materials or reports

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
