About the Role

Casual roles available in Quakers Hill, providing therapeutic are and support to a young person with a background of trauma, abuse and neglect who is living in a 24/7 residential care setting.

As part of the role, you will be required to actively participate in activities that increase the competencies and independence of young people, this will include cooking meals and assisting with household cleaning and chores.

The successful candidate will have availability to work a variety of shifts, in particular afternoon and active night shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and monitor individual plans 
  • Provide day to day care, supervision and transport to children and young people
  • Actively participate in activities and increase competencies of young people (including cooking and cleaning)
  • Mentoring of young people
  • Maintenance of progress notes and report writing
  • Support the involvement of family

Skills & Experience

  • Diploma in Community Services, Youth Work or similar
  • A current First Aid Certificate
  • A current unrestricted NSW Driver's Licence
  • Ability to work various shifts (in particular afternoon and active nights) across a 24/7 roster
  • Experience working with children and young people with trauma backgrounds in Intensive Therapeutic Care or Out of Home Care settings

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check.
